6th Grade

Gifted Technology

    This class is an elective for 6th grade gifted students.   The focus of the class will be on technology, with  opportunities for extensive internet research and instruction in specialized software programs for web design, animation, graphic design, video production, digital photography, and other applications.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in various technology competitions.  Students will also receive instruction in basic software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and FrontPage).  Hands-on activities will have an emphasis on higher-level thinking skills, creative problem solving, and affective development.  Project-based learning will be a major focus.
