1.     Scrolling Science

2.    Create a new table of contents for Content Standard 1

3.    Give students time to complete the vocabulary words (pg. 1) and copy the notes on chemical change (pg. 2)

4.    Explain the requirements of a physical change.  Write the following list of words to make physical changes more vivid-freezing, melting, condensing, evaporating, boiling, cutting, breaking, tearing, crushing, warming, cooling, expanding, dissolving, separating, mixing, bending.

WEDNESDAY-2

1.     Scrolling Science

2.    Create a Christmas image using torn paper-remind students that this is a physical change.

 

THURSDAY-3

1.     Scrolling Science

2.    Discuss the requirements for a chemical change- a new substance is formed and it cannot be reversed.

3.    Copy the clues to a chemical change.  Show students rust-a new solid forms clue

 

FRIDAY-4

1.      Scrolling Science

2.    Demonstrate a material changes color-rotten fruit, metal or tarnished silver/metal, food cooks/bakes, glow stick.
