Reading is Groovy

*During our reading workshop this week we will be working on character development. We will practice this with various texts and passages. We will be focusing on phrasing to enhance reading fluency.
* Encourage students to read carefully each night and complete their Read At Home Logs. These logs will be taken as a 100 point grade each week. We want to ensure that they understand and remember what they read:)
*Since students are moving into more chapter books, they will not be expected to take an AR test everyday.
Surfing the Math Wave

*We will begin our geometry unit. We will be discussing the 6 basic geometric figures ( sphere, cone, cube, pyramid, rectangular prism, and cylinder. We will be concentrating on each figures attributes. We are continuing to work on our multiplication facts also. Please make sure your child does their math worksheet each night. This will be counted as a homework grade at the end of the nine weeks.
SCIENCE
*We will be starting our unit on rock and minerals.
