Welcome to Mrs. Bynum's Webpage!
"Do Your VERY BEST, and That's All I Expect!"
-- Mrs. Bynum
I am very excited about this year, and it seems as
if we are off to a great start!!!
My name is Lindsee Bynum and I am teaching reading and social studies.
I graduated from Jacksonville State University in
December of 2004 and even though I'm
from Albertville, I'm extremely happy to be working in this wonderful school system.
I am a family person and think the world of my two babies, Jackson and Lilee-Ann who are 2 years old and 16 months; and of course I love my husband, Westley as well! This will be my fifth year here at Cherokee and I have enjoyed every second of each year! My first year I taught writing, and for the past few years, I have taught reading and social studies. Of course this year, I'll be teaching reading and social studies again, and I can't wait!
I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to teach each and every one of my students this year.
Just remember, be respectful to yourself, others, AND THE TEACHER, and we will get
along just fine!!!
THANK YOU,
Students and Parents for all of Your Dedication and Hard Work!!!
THANK YOU EVERYONE for such a Great start to the school year!!!
Also, THANK YOU for all the supplies and donations!

What's Going on in Reading and Social Studies-
Week of March 8th-12th-
Reading-
The AR Party for the nine weeks will be Friday from 12:40-2:20. Thank you so much everyone for working hard to meet your reading goals. I’m proud of each of you. Please keep working hard for me and really impress me this last nine weeks.
This week in Reading, we are focusing on more review. I will give a little quiz on multiple meaning words Monday, but all students should do great. I was proud of how hard students worked last week on this objective.
We WILL NOT have a homework packet this week, but instead we will review a lot and practice several objectives that we have already mastered during class. This week will be the last full week of the nine weeks, and I will not require homework unless a student wants to make up for a bad grade he/she received earlier in the nine weeks.
Social Studies-
In social studies, we are going to try to get another unit covered before Friday. We learned about the colonies of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island (The New England Colonies), and this week, we will focus on the Middle Colonies.
I WILL NOT test students on these colonies; instead I will take a 100 point grade on the accuracy of participation and hard work they put into completing daily assignments on each of the colonies. I don’t want to test them after returning from a week-long break, and there is no way I could get the unit taught, reviewed, and test students by Friday. Maybe this will also be a way for students to pull up their grade before the end of the nine weeks.
