Chemistry

        * There is a $20 lab fee.

          *  Notebooks are graded every nine weeks.

          * There will be no extra credit assignments given.

          * The order of the chapters in the textbook to be covered are: 1-23    

          * Penalties for late assignments are as follows:  1 day late - 50% off;

             everything after that is a zero.

 

 

THIS WEEK (Oct. 6-10):  Mon. - go over ch. 4 NTW (quantum #'s, orbitals, contributors of quantum theory); Tue. - discuss QN's, orbitals, electron configuration, Colburn's chart and work sample problems; Wed. - discuss orbital notation in relation to electron configuration, prac. probs pg. 113; Thur. - go over prac. probs, noble gas notation, Q & A session (EC, ON, NGN), prac. probs pg. 121; Fri. - go over prac. probs, a TBA lab.

Environmental Science

         * There is no lab fee for students in Ecology.

         * The order of the chapters in the textbook to be covered are as follows:

            ch. 1-21.

          *  Notebooks are graded every nine weeks.

          * Extra credit possibilities will be discussed in class.

          * Penalties for late assignments are as follows:  1 day late - 25% off;

             2 days late - 50% off;  everything after that is a zero.

 

 

THIS WEEK  (Oct. 6-10):  Mon. - go over ch. 5 NTW #1 (producers, consumers, decomposers, food chain and web, energy pyramid), sketch the C, N, and P cycles for a grade; Tue. - finish sketches, NTW #2 on the three cycles; Wed. - go over NTW, 5-2 sec. rev. in NB, discuss primary vs sec. succession; Thur. - fire case study pg. 130-131, 5-3 sec. rev. in NB, discuss pioneer species and lichen; Fri. - review objectives of ch. 5, CW - chap. rev. for a grade.
