Classroom Information
Reading Please make sure your child is reading at least 30 minutes every night and getting their planner signed by an adult.
In my reading class, I am taking a weekly homework grade based on how many nights my students get their planner signed.
Math The facts test this week will be 6's facts. Practicing with flash cards and Internet websites are a great help in learning facts. I also have multiplication flash cards available for students to take home to practice.
We are working on a few neat activities that concentrate on adding/subtracting whole numbers and money this week. These activities include choosing items from a book order up to $100 and ordering lunch from food menus. Ask your child about it!
Here is a tentative Homework schedule for the week:
Monday-n/a
Tuesday-Student Sheet 8
Wednesday-no homework/practice facts
Thursday-Study for 6's facts test on Friday
Language We are learning how to classify sentences (locating nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs in sentences), as well as learning how to spell the long a sound. We are also reviewing the four types of sentences.
