Fall Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who came
out to shop at our Book Fair. We had a great turn-out on Family Night and
Grandparent's Day. We sold over $11,000 worth of books. The school
will get to keep approximately $3,300 as profit from the fair. This money
will go towards reading rewards, supplies, new books for the library, etc.
We truly appreciate all of your support!!

LibraryVolunteers
We have many wonderful parent
volunteers in the library this year. Our third grade parents are Jenny
Jones and Mary Campbell. Our fourth grade parents are Carol Kovac
and Reneice Wherry and our fifth grade parent is Jennifer Davis. If you
are interested in helping in the media center, please come by and see Mrs. Sims. We truly
appreciate all of the work and time these parents donate to us each week.
They are a very important part of our library program.

"Reading Luau"
Reading
goals are now being set for the first nine weeks. Students who reach their
goal will get to come to the library for a "Reading Luau" reading party.
For our first nine weeks, we will be going outside for snow cones and some free
play time. Our party for the second nine weeks will be held in the library
and we will eat
popcorn, watch a video, and have a prize drawing. Work hard to reach your
goal so you won't miss out!
A.R. PRIZES
Students
who earn 100 points during the school year will be treated to a skating party in
May.
Students who earn 175 points
during the school year get to paint a ceiling tile. Students who have
painted a ceiling tile in previous years will get to paint a wall tile that will
be hung in the library.
Students
who earn 200 points during the school will be treated to an ice cream sundae
party in May.
Parents,
you can help your child reach his/her AR reading goal by making sure they read
their AR book at home and bring it to school every day. You can also read with them.
Research proves that reading aloud to your child is one sure way to improve
his/her reading!!!
