 Business Technology Applications

Course Description:
 

Business Technology Applications is a one-credit foundation course designed to assist students in developing technological proficiencies in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations,communications, Internet use, ethics, and careers using technology applications. Simulations and projects promoting teamwork, leadership, and workplace skills offer further opportunities for application of knowledge and skills.

Career and technical student organizations are integral, co-curricular components of each career and technical education course. These organizations serve as a means to enhance classroom instruction while helping students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and broaden opportunities for personal and professional growth.


Class Fee: $5.00 or bring your own ream of paper

Textbooks Used: Century 21 Keyboarding and Computer Applications


GRADE DETERMINATION: All grades earned during the 9-week grading period will be added and averaged by the total points possible. Progress reports will be sent home after the 4th week of each grading period.

ABSENCES: There will be a class assignment every day. If a student is absent an assignment will be missed. If the student has an excused absence, the work must be made up. The student will have 5 school days from the day he/she returned to school to make up this missed assignment. It is the student’s responsibility to ask for make-up work. It is the student’s responsibility to make this request within 2 days after an absence. If the work has not been made up in 5 school days, a zero will be given for the missed assignment.
